Aishwarya Rai’s Daughter a Chelsea Fan Already Says Abhishek

Aishwarya Rai has never shown an inclination one way or the other towards any sports teams, but for the sake of peace on match day lets hope she supports the Blues as much as her husband does!

Amitabh Bachchan mentioned in his blog this week that Aishwarya Rais daughter takes after her mother when it comes to looks, but now its clear that Beti B will be a spitting image of her father in at least one regard:

Aishwarya Rais daughter may have come home in a pink blanket but Abhis making sure she learns early that a little girls true color is blue.

. Both are diehard Chelsea fans.

Its no secret that Abhishek Bachchan is a big Chelea supporter; he was the first fan to get his hands on the clubs new jersey, takes in games at Stamford Bridge every time hes in London and even worked the legendary football club into his film Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.

And shes already a BLUE. Jersey and all!! he tweeted playfully to a fan who perhaps somewhat foolheartedly suggested Abhishek allow his daughter to support Manchester United.

And now hes gifted his newborn baby daughter something close to his heart: a tiny blue Chelsea jersey. no word what the missus thinks of all of this

The official announcement of the signing is supposed to come out within 24 hours of the medical, as Frenchman Debuchy is also reported to be unveiled.

Wenger is reported to have done this because he believes the soon to be Arsenal player can develop into a center forward, a position in which he has excelled in during his time with the Chile national team. During his time in Barcelona, Sanchez made approximately 88 appearances and scored 39 goals.

It should be noted that Sanchez will be the second major signing that Arsene Wenger has made, with Mesut Ozil being the first.

The versatile Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez is reportedly on the verge of joining Premier League giants Arsenal F.C

Arsenal fans should be excited by this signing as Sanchez is considered one of the best players in the world, and if he is developed well by Wenger then Sanchez can truly aid Arsenal in capturing more titles.

This comes after a report from claimed that the Chilean had agreed personal terms and was set to jet into London to complete his medical today. . There he managed to score 20 goals in in 95 appearances. Before his time with Barcelona, Sanchez plied his trade with Italian side Udinese.

It is also said, via, that Arsene Wenger had spent a lot of time over the past week trying to convince Sanchez to join the Gunners instead of Italian Giants Juventus and Premier League runner ups- Liverpool F.C.

Sanchez is set to be have cost Arsenal between 30-40 million pounds

Iniesta could be moved forward; FOOTBALL.

He should be used in a more attacking role than usual and his goal minutes are going cheap at 19.

Leo Messi will be absent from the Barca line-up after spraining his ankle in Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Atletico Madrid, but that has not stopped Sporting Index from quoting Barcelona supremacy at a sizeable 2.1-2.3. . All rights reserved.

BARCELONA failed to score for the first time in 20 La Liga home games when they suffered a shock 2-0 loss at home to Hercules 11 days ago, but they are expected to secure a convincing victory over Sporting Gijon in tonight’s televised clash at Camp Nou, writes Dan Childs.

David Villa will spearhead the Barcelona attack and Sporting give him a huge respect by quoting his goal minutes at 48-51.

Barca manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that it will be ’impossible’ to replace Messi during the player’s anticipated two-match lay-off but he still has plenty of top-class attacking options at his disposal.

Wide-attacker Pedro may be asked to get into more scoring positons than usual and that may explain why his goal minutes are quoted at a lofty 30-33. But Sporting might have underestimated the scoring potential of Andres Iniesta. Recommendation Buy A Iniesta goal minutes 0.5pt at 19 Sporting Index

Liverpool’s Luis Suarez bites opponent’s arm – again

“Until we review it, we can’t comment on it.”

“I’m not sure what to make of it. This sets such a bad example.”. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

2013 CBS Interactive Inc. He has been the best player in the league this season,” Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard said. “If it wasn’t for all the controversies he’s been involved in he would be a more highly regarded player. Asamoah Gyan hit the crossbar with the ensuing penalty kick, and Uruguay advanced in a shootout.

“We will review it, and we will comment after that,” Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said. He’s making it very difficult for himself to stay at Liverpool, that puts him in the last chance saloon,” Souness said.

Former Liverpool manager Graeme Souness told Sky Sports that Suarez had “crossed a line”.

In November 2010, Suarez was banned for seven matches for biting PSV Eindhoven’s Otman Bakkal while playing in the Dutch league, earning him the nickname “Cannibal of Ajax.”

“It is very depressing and embarrassing that it should happen,” he told BBC Sports. Embarrassing. He leads the Premier League with 23 goals and has 30 overall this season.

Professional Footballers’ Association chairman Gordon Taylor was critical of Suarez.

Suarez, who served a seven-game suspension for a bite during a Dutch league match in 2010, was foiled by Ivanovic as he attempted to kick the ball between the center back’s legs in the penalty area. Players are role models and are highly rewarded. As the ball rebounded toward the edge of the area, Suarez turned to his opponent, and television images clearly showed him biting into Ivanovic’s jersey at the top of the right arm.

And in the 2010 World Cup quarterfinal, Suarez’s handball in overtime prevented a goal by Ghana’s Dominic Adiyiah, earning a red card. All Rights Reserved. Suarez was suspended for eight games in December 2011 for making racist insults to Manchester United defender Patrice Evra during a Premier League match.

“I think it would be an injustice to Luis Suarez to talk about (the incident). “I think he is the third-best player in the world behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.”

LIVERPOOL, England In the latest chapter of Luis Suarez’s controversial career, the Uruguayan bit the arm of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during Sunday’s 2-2 draw in the Premier League.

On Sunday, Suarez also gave away a penalty kick with a needless handball, and Eden Hazard converted to put Chelsea ahead 2-1 in the 57th minute.

Ivanovic shrugged off Suarez and immediately complained to referee Kevin Friend, who didn’t see the incident and didn’t speak to Suarez.

The late goal denied interim Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez a winning return to the club he led to the Champions League title in 2005 and the final of Europe’s top competition in `07.

Suarez’s goal in the seventh minute of injury time one more that initially signaled gave Chelsea the draw. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed

Can Fans Own Football Clubs? | Ball Street

What happens if the fans don’t show up? Can they be replaced by another audience?”

Whether that will subsequently see the ushering in of yet more fan owned football clubs remains to be seen, but with Portsmouth, the signs are there that it does remain not only a viable option but a beneficial one for English football.

However the system is not without its difficulties, as current Fulham boss Felix Magath found out while coaching Schalke 04.

As Uersfeld explained however, fans had become undervalued: “We are part of the game, part of the business, but people do not take us seriously. The club’s constitution stated that any player costing over 300,000 had to gain the approval of the supervisory board. Presidents can subsequently be voted out, in a system that demands accountability of those at the top – something that often seems to escape English football. A day short of six years on from their Wembley final, the Supporters Trust will collect a Civic Award on 16 May, commending their work in turning club’s fortunes around.

In 2010 Dortmund fans boycotted a game at Schalke over what they perceived to be an unfair hike in ticket prices: “This protest is not aimed towards Schalke but against the price hike which basically every club here in Germany is part of,” Stephan Uersfeld, of the German fanzine Schwatzgelb, told BBC Sport in 2010.

Magath sought to have the clause removed from the club’s constitution – a decision that was unsurprisingly rejected. As England casts an envious eye towards Germany, it is hard not to be impressed by the displays of unity. Now beginning to establish a firm foundation for the club to build on, Portsmouth’s relative success has opened a much wider question – is football fans owning clubs the future?

“Going down with pride” was the fans riposte, emblazoned on t-shirts. Given that fans were outraged at tickets surpassing the 20 mark, the situation represents a stark contrast when compared to the much higher sums fans in England are expected to shell out in order to see Premier League football and the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. Yet finally, it seems a ray of hope has sprung from the club and it’s all thanks to the Pompey Supporters Trust.

In Portsmouth’s case, the audience has also served as the saviour.

It was 17 May 2008 and Portsmouth were celebrating. The top 36 Bundesliga and second tier clubs all operate under fan ownership (referred to as the 50+1 model) with only two exceptions – Bayer Leverkusen and VfL Wolfsburg, which have always been owned by chemical giant Bayer and Volkswagen respectively. Burdened by debts that were estimated to be in the region of 135million, the club became the embodiment of every fans worst fear as they were the first Premier League club to enter administration.

Supporters or ‘members’ are given a significant say in the decision making of clubs. Speaking on the Pompey Supporters Trust website, Ashley Brown said of their Civic award: “This is recognition of the efforts of not just the PST board members past and present, but all shareholders both individual and syndicates, our members and of course our Presidents who continue to work so closely with us to ensure PFC is here for many years to come.”

“By the fans for the fans” read a banner that hung behind the assorted trust members. .

Little did those fans know what was to occur at Fratton Park in the years that followed. Even in instances in which they do not own the football club – such as Hoffenheim, where Dietmar Hopp owns 96% of the club’s shares – decisions are still made by those on the terraces. Continuing down into the fourth tier of English football for the first time since 1978, the club even skirted close to extinction. Stood on the concourse at Wembley their players held aloft the FA Cup as jubilant scenes unfolded amongst their fans.

In Germany it is already happening
